Early life
Itziar Ituño was born in June 18, 1974 in Basauri, Spain. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a housewife. She completed her schooling in her hometown and she studied in cinema in Basauri Theater School. Ituño also studies the career of sociology. Although her mother tongue is Spanish, Itziar has been Basque since she was 19 years old, so she speaks fluent Basque and Spanish.
Career
Her first work in television was the movie Agur Olentzero, agur (in Spanish ‘Adiós Olentzero, bye’) in 1997 .
In 2002, she began to work on the Goenkale series , at that time the best-known and most popular series in the Basque Country . In the telenovela she plays the character Nekane Beitia, a lesbian ertzaina from the fictional town of Arralde. Although it has its comings and goings, Itziar Ituño is in the series until 2015 , year in which the telenovela ends because of its low audience. The role of Nekane gives Ituño great popularity in Euskadi.
The name of Itziar Ituño begins to sound even more for her roles in the films Loreak and Igelak , released in 2015 and 2016 respectively. In 2017 her works go beyond the Basque Country and she makes the national leap with La casa de papel , Antena 3 series that is later acquired by the Netflix platform .
The actress combines her work in film, television and theater with her other passion, music, being a vocalist in three groups: Dangiliske, EZ3 and INGOT.
On September 26, 2017, she was the host of the Basque Film Gala and ETB at the 65th edition of the San Sebastian festival .

La Casa De Papel
In 2017 , she premiered Antena 3 the series La casa de papel, in which she played the leading role as Rakel. Thanks to this, the actress is recognized by the profession and by the public, something that she sees as “Police”. Netflix has bought the rights to the series, making it a great worldwide success.
In April of 2018, it is confirmed that there will be a third part of La Casa de Papel with the participation of the actress. This will be produced by the Netflix streaming platform , in collaboration with Vancouver Media , and will come to light throughout 2019.
