Marivano Devon Lister II (born November 18, 1993), better known as Marivano Lister by profession, is a Music Producer & Artist who is the CEO and Founder of an independent record label, Pink Rodeo Records LLC. He is best known for singles such as “Goat Tying”, “Feel My Worth”, “So Many Nights”, & “Laid Back”, which have generated him a local buzz in his hometown.

Early life


Marivano Lister was born and raised in Houston, Texas. As a youth his hobbies consisted of playing basketball, writing poetry, listening to music and drawing. His passion for music developed more when he was introduced to artist such as Erykah Badu, Musiq Soulchild, Tupac, Kanye West, Lil Wayne & The Isley Brothers and many more at a very young age.

Writing music

He then began writing music that were conscious driven which lyrics were meant to challenge the status quo during his time as an adolescent. As he continued to progress he began performing in local talent shows at his church, Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church & at Cunningham Middle School. However, it was not until college that he decided to pursue a career in music after frequently freestyling with friend who actively stated that he should take it seriously.

Marivano, considers himself a popular loner however, he enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.

Career


2017: Start of Career

In 2017, Marivano started saving money to fund his independent journey while launching his first mixtape his last semester in college. During, that time Marivano connected with AJ McQueen during a poetry night who provided encouraging words and tips as an artist who eventually became a mentor helping him understand his brand.

2018:

In 2018, Marivano focused more on branding himself more as an artist performing consistently every week at open mic. He began building a social presence online while networking and building from the ground up launching his second mixtape, “Cruel Love” engineering the entire project himself after purchasing his own equipment.

2019:

Understanding the business side of things Marivano started to focus solely on ownership. Through consistency and spending every day getting better at his craft, Marivano started to see growth as an artist from producing and writing. He continued to push out singles finding new ways to market which he started working on his highly anticipated debut album, “Pink Rodeo.”

2020:

He launched his own independent record label, Pink Rodeo Records LLC and released his debut album in October.

  • Originally, wanted to be a lawyer growing up and best selling author.
  • Became a published author after receiving his first publication in a collaborative book of young writers titled “Celebrating what is important to me” West Grades 3-12 Fall 2011 his senior year of high school which was published through Creative Communication
