Early life

Miguel Herrán was born in April 25, 1996 in Málaga, Spain. He lived in Fuengirola with his mother. In Miguel’s childhood, his mother decided to move to Madrid. He grew up in the Madrid neighborhood of Chamberí. His father is a businessman and his mother is a housewife. He completed his schooling in his hometown and he is graduated from University of Madrid.

Career

It was discovered by the actor and director Daniel Guzmán when he was doing a “sidewalk casting”, for the movie A cambio de nada . That was how he got the role of Darío, which shortly afterwards would win him his first Goya for the best revelation actor .

At the same time that the film was shot, Miguel studied for a year at the William Layton Laboratory, the same place where Daniel studied, and later he continued his studies at the Central de Cine de Madrid.

After the Goya, he was awarded the San Pancracio Revelation Actor at the Solidarity Festival of Spanish Cinema in Cáceres and in April he received the RTVA Prize for the «Andalusian Talent Screening» at the Malaga Festival.

In 2016 he is part of the cast of two new films. He has a small role in The Invisible Guardian of Fernando González Molina , along with Marta Etura and Elvira Mínguez ,  and another, something more important, in 1898: Los últimos de Filipinas , directed by Salvador Castro and where he shares a scene with actors like Álvaro Cervantes , Patrick Criado , Karra Elejalde , Luis Tosar . In addition, he participates as a protagonist in a short film for a Bollywood ad .

In 2017 Atresmedia premieres the series La casa de papel , where Miguel plays Rio and shares the cast with Álvaro Morte , Úrsula Corberó , Pedro Alonso , Alba Flores and Paco Tous , among others.

At the beginning of 2018 Netflix announces that Miguel Herrán will be part of Elite , his second original series in Spain after Las chicas del cable . In addition, this same platform announces in the event See What’s Next , held in Rome in mid-April, the production of a new season of the paper house in which the actor will continue to give life to his character.
