Qazi Anwar Hussain is a Bangladeshi writer, translator, publisher, and creator of the popular Masud Rana series. In the mid-sixties, as the head of Sheba Prokashoni, he created the spy character Masud Rana.

Early life
Kazi Anwar Hossain was born in Dhaka on July 19, 1936. His full name is Kazi Shamsuddin Anwar Hossain. Nickname is ‘Nawab’. His father is renowned scientist, mathematician and literary scholar Kazi Motahar Hossain, mother Sajeda Khatun. They were 3 brothers, 3 sisters. Anwar Hossain’s childhood was spent in the northern slope of the two-storey gas house, which is still visible in the north and south corners of the eastern boundary of Dhaka Medical College.
In 1943, World War II, during the move, they moved to the south side of the guest house. Some of the arts department of Dhaka University was on the south side. Dr. Kazi Motahar Hossain was then a proctor of the university. Later, however, they shifted to their home in Segunbagicha.
Education
He passed his matriculation from St Gregory’s School in 1952. He then passed his IA and BA from Jagannath College. He passed his MA in Bengali Literature from the University of Dhaka in 1961.
