Bangladesh has become a growing market for OTT. Foreign streaming services are doing business successfully in Bangladesh. But there was very little local content. In 2020, Mediastar Ltd. announced the launch of an OTT platform the following year and named it Charki. [4] In April 2021, the Indian High Commission shared 38 documentary films with Charki. Chorki mainly focuses on Bengali language content. [9] They also show Turkish and Iranian films with Bengali subtitles. They have two categories of content, premium and free. They show movies, serials, programs, non-fiction content, music videos, Charki original content and many more Bengali and foreign language video content. [10] They started their journey with more than 200 films, TV serials, documentaries, TV dramas etc.
